How to make 500 Gold in under 5 minutes in World of Warcraft

Where to make 500 Gold in under 5 minutes

So, I decided to get some gold in my characters bags and also work on getting more mounts. So, I started toward exalted with Emperor Shaohao via grinding to get the Reins of the Heavenly Golden Cloud Serpent. Around the same time, I came across an article that tipped me off about this way of making gold. It's probably obvious to many unless you were out of the loop while the whole Timeless Island was a big deal and you don't care about pets.

There are a group of Neverending Spritewood near the bottom of the hill. If you pick up the near by crystal, you change into a crystalline version of yourself and they will start to attack you. Just AOE them all down. They'll end of dropping just over 100 gold in the short exchange that takes about a minute. You'll also have a high chance to pick up the Dandelion  Frolicker. I've picked up 3 in one exchange before. These pets can cell for around 500 gold. You'll also get a chance for the epic gear that drops all through the isle which can cell for around 24 gold a piece to the vendor. In addition, the Motes of Harmony are still big sellers too.

I think if you try it once you'll make it a daily stop. All you need to make this worthwhile is the Time-Lost Artifact. This allows you to teleport to the Timeless Island every minute. Remember this can only be done once a day.

Where Do I Buy the 20% XP Potion.

Where do you find the 20% XP potion, also known as excess potion of accelerate learning? Sometimes I just miss the obvious. Sometimes the obvious is just hidden by wrong information. Most information online stated the horde vendor who sold this was Rasham the Innkeeper or they stated I would get it from Sergeant Grimjaw. I checked multiple times and they never offered it. I kept thinking, maybe it's a level thing.

The correct answer is Grimjaw. I had a hard time finding him also. I tried /tar grim but it never seemed to work. I might have missed it also because it's on page 3 where I didn't expect it.

On the alliance side, it is Sergeant Crowler located right by  your garrison resources.

PVE vs PVP in World of Warcraft

Easy 25 conquest points for killing this clown in the back.
There is so much to accomplish in World of Warcraft few people can do it all if any at all. There are 2 major options when it comes to playing at the higher levels. I've seen some people ask, "Should I Raid (PVE) or PVP?" What someone is really saying is which is more rewarding?

Why can't most people be good at both, PVP and PVE?

There is an enormous amount of time invested in both options.
Most people don't have the time to do both even if they do play "all the time."
There is a different thought process between the two.

Pros of Raiding:

  • It's Fun.
  • You build great online friendships.
  • You get the thrill of accomplishment.
  • You get to experience new content more often.

Con's of Raiding:

  • You are usually locked in for 3 to 6 hours that night.
  • You have to show up.
  • You spend countless hours waiting around for people to be ready.
  • It can be aweful repetitive if you are stuck on a boss.
  • If you work, you are probably going to lose sleep.

Pros of PVP

  • It's Fun.
  • You build great online friendships
  • You get the thrill of accomplishment.
  • It easier to step in and out play.

Cons of PVP

  • You are going to die.
  • Most likely there are many people better than you.
  • The grind for adequate gear can be tough due to the number of times you are going to die.
  • People on your side are going to whine and complain alot.

So, which option did I decide to go with? I mostly do PVP. I used to devote myself to raiding but that option just caused me to check out from my family. I was never around during prime time hours because I was stuck in a raid. I always felt like I had to be there to get invite back in the future.

With PVP, I feel less constrained to my computer and have more freedom to come and go. In addition, I have always felt: who cares if you can down the last boss, if you are going to step outside the instance and get murdered by everyone?

Review of Obtaining the Warlord of Draenor Title.

Warlord of Draenor

Obtaining the Warlord of Draenor Title isn't difficult it's time consuming. If you group up with others on the quest, it's tolerable. The basics of this title is the following.
  • You need to have a Gladiator's Sanctum at your garrison.
  • You have to complete the brief quest line for each race of the opposing faction. This includes doing quests to burn their statue, kill a player of that race to obtain their heart, and then kill 500 players of that race.
  • Complete the Fight, Kill, Salute Quest
You must kill the players in Draenor. Ashran counts, The Coliseum, battlegrounds and arenas don't count. If you have other's in your party, you get credit for their kills also. So, another words, if you have a party of 5, you get credit for 5 kills for each honorable kill. This is a manageable way to accomplish this. One by one is probably along the same effort as the insane title. Any kills by fellow raid members in the range of your mini-map will count but only towards the number of people in your party.

How I went about accomplishing this is was by utilizing the Group Finder system built into the game. If you look under the custom group option, or under PVP - Ashran, you should be able to find a group at peak times.

The custom groups like to park themselves in front of the latest raid entrance and kill everyone who tries to enter. The effectiveness of this is determined by server, time, day, and who just happens to be raiding that day. Sometimes, you can blow through an entire race in a few hours, excluding pandas and goblins. At other times, you wonder where the hell everyone is and basically waste a lot of time.

Recently, I believe myself and many others have determined Ashran is the better option. If you can get a raid of people in Ashran to follow instructions you can really get things done. Also, camping the entrance to a raid is boring. Running around killing the opposing faction while you when events is more fun. Also, you will get some free loot from winning the events, which you can sell or disenchant.

Most people I have spoken to agree that Goblins are the hardest to accomplish followed by Pandas. Most people who are serious about this suggest to do these first to get them out of the way. I say alternate the easy with the hard. I think doing Goblins and Pandas first might be disheartening. However, I won't save them for last either.

How to Play WoW on a Crappy Computer

If you are like me, you play on a computer that Blizzard states probably won't work.

First off you aren't going to be able to play like the true geeks play. You are going to have to settle for second best. The first thing you need to do is turn down all the settings. In order to do this you click on the "?" sign on the button action button bar in WoW. Then select System.

My Settings are as follows:

Display Mode: Windowed
Resolution: 1366x768
Anti Aliasing: None
Basic Setting: Low
Texture Resolution: Low
Texture Filtering: Triliear
Everything else is Low, except, sunshafts, SSAO, Depth Effects and Outline Mode which are disabled.

Advanced Settings are:

Triple Buffering: Disabled
Reduce Input Lag: Disabled
Hardware Cursor: Enabled
MSAA: None
Multisample Alpha Test: Disabled
PPAA: None
Resample Quality: Bilinear
Graphics API: DirectX 11
Max Foreground FPS about half way
Max Background FPS about 20%
Render Scale about 30%

Network: Optimize Network for Speed checked

I also recommend downloading a program called Game Booster 3 by IObit and starting WoW through their menu. It will stop many of the processes you have running in the background you don't need.

I myself have to stick with mostly PVP. There isn't as much going on in a battleground or arena than there is in a full raid with extra cool graphics, bosses and special effects. I can run old instances, but with some of the WoD instances, I just had to give up on.

How to complete the Fight, Kill, Salute Quest and or Achievement.

I'm not an achievement whore. However, there are some titles and achievements I'll go after. I do have some parameters before I'll chase a title.

  • I have to be able to solo it.
  • It has to be interesting.
  • It has to be something most people won't do.

For Example: Loremaster and Exalted. So, when I saw the Warlord of Draenor title. I wanted it.

One of my concerns about this achievement was the Fight, Kill, Salute achievement. There is some conflicting information online about the details in obtaining it. So, I decided to list a few things here to get the record straight.

Some things you may want to know are:

  • You only have to tag someone to get credit for the kill.
  • You have to be alive when they die.
  • You will sometimes get prizes for coming in second.
  • You get a good amount of conquest points for completing it.
  • The quest will complete at 100 kills or when you win, whichever, comes first.
  • It will take you about an afternoon to finish it if you don't win.

Strat if you suck:

  • Get in a corner and try to hide.
  • Say to people next to you right before the fight starts, "I'm just going to do one AOE just to tag everyone then I'm going to stop. I have no interest in making enemies so close so fast." I actually have this macro'd in.
  • Be prepared for people to PST you to team up. Accept it. Be aware they could be evil.
  • Dot everyone you can. If people are by themselves then I use Shadow Word Pain because it usually doesn't cause alarm to the other player and because throwing out Mind Sear is like putting a skull on your head. If there is a group fighting amongst themselves then I'll Mind Sear but stop right away.
  • DK Army skeletons count as kills.

The biggest pain in this quest is the wait time. You may need to wait up to 10 minutes for a group to start the scenario. Then 6 more minutes once your inside before it actually stops.

Why should you play a disc priest in PVP.

Yes, I'm not all that.
If you are a good gamer, you can play any class and be good at it. However, if you suck, then disc priest is for you . Why? Because, you can face-roll it easier than any other class, IMO.

Many classes and specs require you to face the target you are targeting. Most of the spells for disc priest do not require this. Thus, you need to just cast in any direction. Having to face the right direction just adds complexity to your class.

This can also benefit you when it comes to key-binding vs clicking. The feedback I've received from seasoned players is that a good key-binder will beat a clicker any day of the week. It has to do with the reaction time. Also, as a clicker, I notice times where I think I'm casting a spell only to find I'm not. I also have to divide my attention between what's going on and what I have available to click on. It's hard to hit a target who is running around you while you are searching for icons. Spell countering is hampered too. I will usually do a hybrid to where I'll key bind my 4 emergency spells around my direction keys.

Tangent: Priest were extremely OP back at levels 80 and 85. I used to be able to drag the whole horde army behind me while caring the flag in Warsong Gultch. When they stopped the ability to spam dispel on myself, it changed the level of OPness.

Then there comes to gearing your priest. If you can find a good person to play 2v2 with, you should be able to keep someone alive long enough for them to destroy a week 2v2 team. This is by far the fastest way to get conquest points for obtaining your better gear. You can easily step into YOLO RBGs with out much hassle. They don't expect much and quite often you actually end up on a good team that will carry you. Want to do better than 50% of the players in a RBG group? Pay attention and follow orders. Key point: I find a couple of mass dispels thrown on top of a major battle will usually turn the game in our direction. Many priest don't have a clue how game changing dispel is or won't Glyph into mass dispel. Nothing better than dissolving a pally bubble. So, get into some YOLOs, ask people to carry you in 2v2s in group finder, which they will, and you'll be geared in no time.

Ending thoughts:

Dispel, Dispel, Dispel
Bubble, Dispel, Heal,
Many Flash Heals are better than  one Greater Heal. IMO.
Research you class.
When everything seems on cool down, Nova.
